Vegas!

On Easter weekend we went to Vegas with some friends. The initial reason for going was to do some birthday celebrations with one of our friends - the results of that were a mediocre sushi buffet, going to see Phantom, and dinner at the Strip Burger. The other things we did were gambling (obviously), eating a lot - again at Strip Burger, Bahama Breeze, Krispy Kreme, and others I can't remember. We also did a lot of walking to any of the casinos that we missed the last time we were there, we never moved the car until we left.
The Eiffel Tower, came out pretty good for not even looking at the camera when I took it.

RCX II

In late March we went to RCX, like last year. And we got Angela another helo...a much much better one that actually hovers controllably. Hopefully that will keep me from flying this one into the sink. It also has two bright LEDs facing forward with a blinking one on the tail rotor. The time machine was also there.

Disney Land

Two weeks after skiing we went and met the parents in Disney Land. We got 2 day park hoppers and went back forth between the parks. It was great to have family in town for my b-day.

Ski Trip

We finally got to go skiing a few weeks ago. Both of us along with three friends went up to Mammoth (June Lake) and rented a cabin for a few days. We went skiing, snowshoeing, and did some exploring of the area.

A view from the top (best photo stitch I could do in 5 minutes)

Chump Car

Ah, this is one of things that I had forgotten doing until I was looking though pictures. Basically $500 car + safety gear. 7 and 24 hour endurance races. +/- points for themes/mods/rude driving/etc. Among the cars were an Ugly turbo Miata, a 2nd gen Trans Am that looked like it had a partial rollover at one time, a Hyabusa powered Geo Metro, and a BMW with a Mr T theme. Being that there are several tracks at Willow Springs, we also got to see the Porsche Club racing and some drifters. These were probably two of the fastest cars there. Here are some other pictures.

I know, I know

I really need to keep up with this better. I don't much of what all we have done since the last post. Here is a picture of the martian landscape that we visited this weekend:Ok, so it didn't really have a red sky or the sun in the back, but it is kind of Mars looking.Up close:The pinnacles consist of over 500 tufa spires. They are featured in many movies, car commercials, TV shows, and other projects. They were created 10,000 to 100,000 years ago during three separate ice ages.

Driving out to the pinnacles is not something you want to do in your nice car either, 5 miles of washboards and if its been raining, mud that looks like concrete - I'll find out later if it dries like concrete. We also saw these:The weekend before we went to Wagon Wheel, kind of like the City of Rocks. We climbed around on the rocks for a while and just relaxed, this area is really popular as a practice area for rock climbers around Ridgecrest.

Snow!!!

In town:
Out of town:
At the sledding location:
It was some of the deepest snow I have ever played in, and the freshest. It took about 2.5 hours to drive to it.
