Chump Car
Ah, this is one of things that I had forgotten doing until I was looking though pictures. Basically $500 car + safety gear. 7 and 24 hour endurance races. +/- points for themes/mods/rude driving/etc. Among the cars were an Ugly turbo Miata, a 2nd gen Trans Am that looked like it had a partial rollover at one time, a Hyabusa powered Geo Metro, and a BMW with a Mr T theme. Being that there are several tracks at Willow Springs, we also got to see the Porsche Club racing and some drifters.
These were probably two of the fastest cars there. Here are some other pictures.

I know, I know
I really need to keep up with this better. I don't much of what all we have done since the last post. Here is a picture of the martian landscape that we visited this weekend:
Ok, so it didn't really have a red sky or the sun in the back, but it is kind of Mars looking.
Up close:
The pinnacles consist of over 500 tufa spires. They are featured in many movies, car commercials, TV shows, and other projects. They were created 10,000 to 100,000 years ago during three separate ice ages.
Driving out to the pinnacles is not something you want to do in your nice car either, 5 miles of washboards and if its been raining, mud that looks like concrete - I'll find out later if it dries like concrete.
We also saw these:
The weekend before we went to Wagon Wheel, kind of like the City of Rocks.
We climbed around on the rocks for a while and just relaxed, this area is really popular as a practice area for rock climbers around Ridgecrest.
