Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend we took off to LA again for the LA Invasion Rim of the World Cruise, car show and drag racing. We took off Saturday morning and stopped a few places on the way down so Angela could look at brides maids dresses. Sunday morning we headed out for the cruise. There were around 60 cars registered and more showed up.Once at the top there was a BBQ planned, but the caterer was called and apparently he thought the meal was Monday, so we went and found our own places. We ate at a nice place called the Peppercorn Grill. We headed back over to the meeting area for the cruise back down. We somehow ended up driving down with the group that had driven in from AZ.We got back to the hotel about 5 and just rested the rest of the day. The next morning was the car show and drag races. We watched most of the day of racing and then headed back home and got back to Ridgecrest around 6. It was a really good weekend.

Pre-Memorial Day weekend

We went down to Lancaster for some things (like new tires) and then onto LA. We booked a room for 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Beverly Hills, probably one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. We had a 14th floor room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. I wanted to get a picture of the truck in the valet line with the two Bentleys and a Ferrari, but never got the opportunity. We were right next to the Westfield Mall and movie theater.(^View from our room^)

Late Friday morning we headed for the beach. We arrived, found a parking space and headed down to the pier for some food. After eating we went down the beach and played in the ocean for a while and enjoyed the beach. Once we were burnt (oops), we went back to the hotel and got cleaned up and headed for the Big Boy in Burbank for the Friday night cruise in and dinner. We went back to the hotel afterwards and turned in for the night. The next morning we got up, packed, and headed up Highway 1 towards Malibu. Once there we cut through the mountains to Santa Clarita and headed home.

Cat pictures

Since the last post we went to the Feline Reserve again for a twilight tour. You get to go through the park into areas you otherwise do not get to see. It is in the evening when it is cool so the cats are more active, and they are given toys and melons to play with. For more pictures click here.
